Bansko, Babas, and Babies

Lots of weddings going down during our stay there. They would carry into the street and cavort around for the entire afternoon.

Lots of babas chilling around town. It means "Grandmas."

These are the two families with babies. Scott, Ani, and Christofer "Smurfey" Jarrett are on top. Chad, Kelly, and Conner Lyon are below.

Cats had overrun the city. This is one of their retired generals from the great Bansko cat vs. dog war of '99.

Bansko stole this tree from Minas Tirith...

This is a statue of a famous Bankso monk, Paisii Hilendarski, one of the instigators of the Bulgarian National Revival during the mid-18th century.

Conner has more teeth by now, not to mention the ability to walk.

This is the whole group that made it down. Kelly, Scott, Ani, Chad on the left with Tracy, Pete, Derek, and Jenn on the right. Four couples makes me the 9th wheel.

Lots of ill-planned construction booming around town.

One of the many local, "Mehanas," or taverns. Good food and smoky interiors. This one took an interesting spin on the Cyrillic-English translation.
